CCCN Intern Welcome Fall 2025

Raelyn Flores

Cal Poly SLO

Majoring in Child Development B.S.

Hi everyone! My name is Raelyn Flores, and I am excited to be joining the CCCN community this fall! I am a fourth-year Child Development major with a minor in Japanese at Cal Poly. I am deeply passionate about working with children and families, and I look forward to learning and growing alongside this team.

I am originally from Guam, but since both of my parents served in the military, I had the opportunity to live in places like Japan and Hawaii. These experiences shaped who I am today and gave me a love for new perspectives, cultures, and community. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, going on walks, and taking spontaneous adventures with friends. Alongside my studies, I also work part-time at an infant and toddler daycare, which has sparked and strengthened my interest in supporting children and families during the early years.

I have always loved working with children because they view the world with such curiosity, joy, and kindness, and I strive to reflect those qualities in my own work and daily life. Watching the significant growth that can occur in just one year has been incredibly rewarding, and it has inspired me to focus on early development. That perspective is what drew me to CCCN, where I hope to contribute to meaningful change while continuing to learn from others.

Through this internship, I am excited to learn from CCCN’s professionals, educators, and advocates who dedicate their work to supporting families. Whether it is through outreach, educational events, or shadowing opportunities, I know this experience will deepen my understanding of maternal and child wellness.

My long term goal is to support families, especially those with military connections, such as my own, through education, advocacy, or helping them adjust to new communities. My hope is to ease some of the stress these families carry and ensure they feel seen, supported, and never alone.

Thank you, CCCN, for welcoming me into such a caring and inspiring community. I cannot wait to begin this journey and contribute wherever I can.
