March 2022: Central Coast Childbirth Network Newsletter

Updated: Mar 28, 2022

We are always so thankful to connect with YOU, our CCCN Members and local community members.

Hello CCCN Community! We are so excited to welcome you into 2022 as we are back with our first newsletter of the year! This year we have a year of fun and educational events planned for CCCN Members and Community. We will be publishing our CCCN Newsletter quarterly this year.

Thank you for taking the time to stay connected with CCCN. If you are new to our website, we welcome you! Our newsletter is a great way to get introduced to who we are, our mission, vision, programs and exciting community updates! We invite you to keep reading to learn more.

And if you are returning, thank you! We appreciate the support from our community members and #CCCNMembers.

We have so many exciting events planned for this new year, including the Central Coast Birth, Baby, Family & Wellness Expo on May 14th from10am-4pm at the Women's Club in Arroyo Grande. Hosted by Central Coast Childbirth Network, INC. Sponsored and funded by First 5 SLO County, Children's Resource and Referral of Santa Barbara County, Central Coast Breastfeeding Coalition and the City of Arroyo Grande. Check out our Expo webpage where you can learn more about this event and see vendors who will be there!

There are many ways you can support CCCN and this upcoming event with vendor and non-vendor opportunities.

Great news! We received two grants from @WalmartGiving to support our mission here at Central Coast Childbirth Network. At the CCCN, we believe that every individual and family should have access to diverse birth and wellness providers and resources on the Central Coast. By bringing education, respect, collaboration, and community spirit, we can make an impact today to create a brighter future.

This is a group effort, and everyone has a unique ability to make a difference. Thank you, Walmart Store # 2507 and #5659 in Santa Maria, for joining the movement! You’re proving that generosity can bring our community together in times of need. Together, we can ensure the CCCN mission: To provide a diverse network of birth and wellness professionals who are committed to inform, educate and advocate for the individual needs of Central Coast families from preconception through the first year of parenting.

Thank you, From all of us at the CCCN TEAM

CCCN thanks the hard work and dedication from CCCN Interns.

We are so fortunate to partner with Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo students for our internship program. This month we said thank you and stay connected with us as both #cccninterns Morgan Jamati and Alana Krull finished their internship.

Read their personal reflections to learn about their experiences and message to future interns.

"All of these experiences and more taught me so much about maternal health, childbirth education, and the importance of community involvement. I have a passion for serving others and helping those who have limited resources...I feel more prepared and excited than ever before and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for me." -Morgan Jamati, CCCN Intern

"The experiences, knowledge, learning, and growth I gained from this internship are priceless. These are only a few reflections from the many activities I participated in. I am so thankful for the mentorship, self-discovery, skills, and investment that came from Zabrina and Susannah this quarter. I recommend checking out CCCN's Instagram, website, and events for further support, resources, and news!" -Alana Krull, CCCN Intern

CCCN is grateful for our internship mentors Susannah Brown and Zabrina Cox who wear many hats here and our birth and wellness professionals who offered many shadow opportunities this quarter. Their time and dedication has make an impact for our interns.
